There's a photo to go with this week's news. It might be invisible to those who can't see it but it's there for anyone who knows how to look. I'll leave you to your memories mixed with what men think of "X" times a day. Maybe she's there somewhere, halfway between dream and fantasy, a place where reality catches up to us only to be left behind again by our imagination...
That's the feeling I used to get taking a deep sniff off the packs of hockey cards and the gum that came with it and got me cruzing from the "dépanneur" to the schoolyard in the early '70s. Those were the days, when life was pure fun and time did not exist ! Aside from homework, teachers, the principal, detentions... basically, everything about school life was sweet. Hockey was still raw. There were no ads on the boards, a beer at the Forum was less than $5 and the cheap seats were the heart and soul of the place that everybody watched on TV or visited religiously every Saturday night at 8. The players had honor, guts and a sense of respect and weren't just money-sucking robots. In that era when it was still a game, you never heard players say "it's part of the business" while being interviewed. Instead they'd say "I give 110% for the team, night after night STI." People still had values, and in those days you could still bump into your Saturday night heroes at the tavern on Tuesday, share a cold one and toast the "Sainte-Flanelle.” together.Shit... 'sit just me or did they fuck it all up?
Money mouny monnny... big business always fucks things up. More for your money my ASS! Problem is, we'll never convince people we're living in mass hypnosis and that we're all getting royally screwed. In the West we're the world champions of blissful ignorance, nothing's gonna change overnight...or as I would say it "Les rois du comfort et de l'indifférence"
Funny how sometimes you start writing and you don't know where you're gonna end up. Mimi will be happy, I didn't talk about Goons this week ;) Without any further delay for this week's LFA news, heeeeeeere's Larry!!! (consult "While sipping a last one")
