While sipping a last one…
I didn’t see the games yesterday except for the last one , since I was playing in it !! But from what I've heard, they were good ones, every match could have gone to one side or the other but as is often the case in hockey, the most opportunistic team or the one making the fewest mistakes ended up winning. In any case the league commissionner is pretty happy with the balance of the teams and can say mission accomplished on that one ... From my perspective , I'm happy that it's been a while since there we had situations or events requiring an intervention by the disciplinary committee and I'm kind of proud to see that !!!
The guys give their 110%, but keep a cool head and it results in good games as we like them! Whether just by talking about it or as the guys get to know each other more and more, it just pays off in the end and is fun to see on and off the ice...
Be it in the stands at the arena during the games or in our post-game dinners or our after post-game dinners, it's cool to see everyone together having fun. Of course we're not 25 guys every week but yesterday was one of those evenings where the turn-out was quite substantial, anyways the biggest in a whiile ... It goes without saying that the president was happy !!!
Only 4 games remain before the end of the regular season and the race for the Tremblay trophy is on the home stretch! I do not know the exact numbers by now but I know that nothing is played and many teams are in position to see their name (and that of their members) engraved on this most unusual trophy that seems stait out of a science fiction movie or just downright part of a satellite or space station or something like that ...
Although it is a mere "apetizer" and that the LFA Cup is the trophy that we all truly covet, I find that the Tremblay really symbolizes the spirit of camaraderie that our league wants to promote. I can’t wait to see it again, even more so with all the new players who haven’t had the chance to live the experience last year ... Because it is a trophy that we share and that everyone benefits from (a little less if you do not drink beer for a reason or another) ...
What I mean is that if we think about it, those moments where we meet benefit everyone, even those who for one reason or another can not participate. For when a good core of guys come to know each other, they can bridge the gap with the guys on their team who are less present outside the ice and help build the true spirit of the LFA that is making its way not slowly but definitely surely ...
All this lets me believe that the best is yet to come ...
Have a good week guys!
