NEW STUFF IN THE LEAGUE
Last Sunday, those who were present at the arena of the Notre-Dame College have noticed that a new set of jerseys was used for the first time in the game between the Avengers and Loggers. As the main colors of the uniforms of those teams are black and royal blue, some had difficulty identifying their teammates in the heat of action. After using the orange-white-black all-stars jerseys, teams with similar colors can now wear the white with black and red stripes uniform. This ninth collection of jerseys will be use when needed.
Another new thing to notice was the addition to the Tomahawks's uniform of the logo of their new sponsor, Pro-Jet Demolition. As is frequently the case in big leagues, the team will change name from next season to reflect this new partnership, despite the rich history of the team and its many championship titles. It is likely that several teams will as well change their name over the years, reflecting the continued growth and vitality of the league.
Regarding Sunday's games, we were treated with a fun to watch first game and a strong performance by Vipers captain, Alex Paré, who scored a magnificent goal early in the game but also missed an open net from a distance of 10 feet, hitting the post ... as they say, we cannot succeed everytime.
The second game was one-sided, the Avengers winning their game against the Loggers 5-0, who seemed baffled by the last trades and the absence of some important players. Knowing their captain, no doubt they will find the energy and team spirit necessary for the return to victory.
The last game of the night was tight throughout the three periods, the gap never exceeding more than one goal. It all ended in shootout, where the Shamrocks won over the Tomahawks. Despite the loss, Patrick Blais's men gained a point and the impression that the last exchanges were successful.
There are still two games to this summer season before starting the playoffs, games that must be used by the teams to find a style of play and build their confidence on the road to the great honours.
See you soon,
