GROUP THERAPY

I will teach you nothing by saying that doing sport is good for the body and the mind, but being part of a team sport pushes the concept itself even further. Although people generally think that therapy is only for people with identity, couple or life crisis issues, it's actually good for everyone to share with others what we feel or think. Team sports such as hockey, basketball, volleyball and all the other sports that allow us to meet in an intimate space like a locker room, sometimes turns into group therapy and again there is no need to have a problem for it to be therapeutic. On the other hand, you have to be there to reap the benefits because those who show up late, play and leave without giving anything back stay in their bubble and could as well just hit a ball on a wall in a shcool yard, as they do not understand what it is to be part of a group, a team or a family. But hey, it takes all kind of people to make a world and all kind of players to make a team. But on this point 11 bubbles will never create a whole and never go all the way. If we look at professional sports it is precisely a lack of communication and connection between the players much more than talent alone that make several teams stay at the bottom of the pack each year as if the only thing their players knew in life is the sport they practice without knowing how to communicate with each other without having a screen that separate them.

Again this is a generational issue according to some studies. In short we do not have their problems, their lives or their cash but we have access to this fantastic encyclopedia of life that a hockey rooms offer us; advices, crazy stories, saucy jokes and attentive ears when we need to talk. One's problem will possibly be yours one day, so listen and do not hesitate to put your grain of salt in this sea of personalities and reap the benefits of being part of a group of individuals who share the same passion as you. It will always be cheaper than going into therapy.

We would be happy to share one of your texts so feel free to send us some!
