BLEU-BLANC-ROUGE CARPET

TRADING PERIOD IN THE LFA

After two months of hockey and some small adjustments along the way we come to the trading period in the LFA. In the past we managed to create parity within the league through trades that saw in each season, several teams fight to win the Tremblay trophy awarded to the regular season champions. That said, the trades did not always have the expected effects and often saw discontent among some teams who felt cheated by the changes. In short, despite the administration noted a certain imbalance within la Ligue Fédérale des As, we decided to make trades only if a team asked for some. So following the feedback of the captains of our eight formations in the central division and our two symbolic captains in the satellite division, the management of the LFA decided to keep a statuquo and leave the teams as they are. Good luck to all for the balance of te season!

PARTICIPATES IN THE HOCKEY EVENT OF THE YEAR AND MINGLE WITH LEGENDS

The LFA is proud to associate with the Canadian Museum of History and the Pointe-à-Callière Museum as part of a hockey exhibition and the National Hockey League's centennial celebrations. Here are the details to take part in the opening night with the chance to mingle with hockey legends as well as several public figures.

SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS, A NECESITY NOT WELL TREATED

With almost 20 years under my blades off taking care of weekend hockey in different forms, I can assure you that the adventure would not have been possible without the help of substitute players. So it is of the utmost importance that they are treated well and feel welcome when they play with us. Having received several comments from substitutes who did not like their experiences and who even refuse to play with certain teams, I remind you that without them, you could not play with full rosters. So thank you for making an effort, being more sociable and doing what you can to make them feel like they are part of your team and welcomed.

A MINUTE OF SILENCE TO HELP A FRIEND

The administration of the league received a special request from one of our former regular members, José Cabral. His brother David is on his death bed and fighting a virulent cancer. José asked us to exercise a minute of silence before each game next Saturday while having a thought for his brother. Once you've finished your team rally cheer, go to the blue line and send him positive energy to see him trought this. The referee will whistle and we will start our games. Thank you for your cooperation in helping a friend of the LFA and we never know what positive thaughts can do, so let's give it a shot !

DANIEL HARBRIDGE SAVES THE DAY !

Last Saturday, it seems that many players throughout the league had a brain cramp and did not consult the game calendar properly. I admit that this one is not as clear as the ones we had in the past but for technical reasons we have to deal with this version for now. One of those who did not consult the schedule properly is the Météor's netminder and becaue his team was playing the first game we were screwed. So Daniel Harbridge offered to strap on the pads so we could get the game going while Mike drove like a mad man to the rink. Luckily, the LFA has emergency goalie equipment to deal with thease kinds of situations even finding a pair of size 11 goalie skates for the man. Mike eventually showed-up to start the second period. A big thanks to Dan for allowing both teams to play thus saving the day !

A SHOW TO PUT YOU IN THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT

Martin Maillié who plays with the Social Revival Hackers and his girlfriend Lisette Nepveu, our official photographer for the LFA, are part of a choir and invite you to their show that will take place December 9th. Check out the poster for more details.

THE POST GAME GET TOGETHER ON THE MAIN, WHILE IT IS STILL TIME

On Saturday for those of you who are interested, we will visit one of our oldest sponsors, the Cabane on the Main. Unfortunately since the beginning of the season the level of participation when we are going there has not been very good. As a result, they are slow to pay their sponsorship fees 3 month into the season, which is not good for the survival of the league as we know it. So the invitation is launched and thank you to inform me BEFORE 2PM SATURDAY, if you will be joining us for our traditional post game get together so that I reserve the number of places required.
