A REVEALING FIRST TEST
The games played last Saturday were the first to be played in the new form adopted by the league as part of its test aimed at improving the general experience of the players. Since the ice tends to become very snowy quickly, it has been decided that the zamboni would be passed between each period of two 33 minutes running time periods.
We were able to see this weekend that several players did not read the last bulletin board explaining in details the modifications to the operating system. Yet, as was to be expected, many liked the new dynamic that allows for better ice and revising its game plan between the two periods. Of course, others have shown dissatisfaction with these changes, for rather nebulous reasons. These changes seem to have disrupted several players who had short breath after 20 minutes, or those whose favorite pastime is to criticize without bringing solutions.
In general, however, the experience seems to be on track, and adjustments will be made next Saturday as several games have gone beyond the allotted time. The warming period could decrease to four minutes, or the periods to 30. This will depend on the effectiveness of the players to be ready to play at the whistle and to position themselves quickly during the shootout. This is not the time to drink water as in the NHL if you are the goalie or the designated players !!
Those who loves the LFA's experience and who appreciate the brotherhood atmosphere found in the league understand the reasons for these changes and many enjoyed the break between periods, which reminded them of the hockey tournaments of their youth, for those who experience those! Others push their love of hockey and of the LFA even further by bringing the league with them even on a journey under the sun, such as Paul Rosa, Captain of the Shamrocks, who always has the league in his heart and on the head!
Also note that the players' statistics have been updated and that the players' photos and their team now correspond to the alignments following the exchanges. If an error is found, your name is associated with a photo that is not yours, etc., please email me (jacob@lfahockey.com)
On this, I wish you a good week and be fit for your next game
