IF ITS WRITTEN HERE, IT MUST CONCERN YOU

running a league can drive you nuts, when dealing with hundreds of players so you need collaboration of all members and must set rules if you don't want to loose YOUR MIND

Hi guys,

I hope you are in top form to start your regular season this weekend! Unlike our satellite division and the lucky ones who took part in our matches against Davos last week, most of you did not play so it is Saturday that the regular season will start in our central division and it promises to be a good one!

After the last season which was difficult in several respects (learn more here http://www.lfahockey.com/historique-en) it is with optimism that we start the fifth season of the LFA which like each year will be filled with surprises, bonuses and good times spent together. Because the human aspect is one of the most important elements of beeing part of a league. If you do not have fun and mix with the guys, what's the point of playing a team sport ?! I think we have a good group of individuals, as Jacques Martin use to say, and many new friendships will be formed over the next eight months. Because the season is long and unlike in renovation work, we know when it will end. Whether you're in the final or not, put SATURDAY MAY 5th in your agenda because we want to be a big gang to finish the season with a blast!

STAYING INFORMED IS IMPORTANT FOR THE GOOD OF THE LEAGUE AND YOURS

If it's written here, it should concern you because our website contains almost all the answers to your questions and can inform you on a lot of other things. Take a few minutes each week to stay informed so you don't miss out on anything !!

A good example of the usefulness of this weekly communication tool is that at the moment I'm writting you, we have 24 guys who can't make their game on Saturday and despite a long list of substitutes players, only 8 have shown an interests to play. So if it's not already done, NOW would be a good time to invite your hockey contacts to sign up to sub this Saturday or some other time because we need new recrutes if we want to continue having complete and BALANCED teams each week.

METHOD OF ALLOCATING POINTS IN THE SATELLITE DIVISION

Bernny, if I remember correctly, pointed out to me that perhaps the new members of our Satellite division were not aware of the way points were awarded. It is very simple, 1 point goes for each period won and another two for the game, so if you get hamered in the first half of the match, you can still get a precious point in the ranking by winning the second half of the game. Capitch ?!

COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE PLAYER AND THE LEAGUE

A small reminder for those who read their player document diagonaly, that you must always contact the league by EMAIL to let us know when you are unavailable to play or have any questions. The cell being only for the gameday emergencies or for personal reasons. It's not because I do not like to talk to you, it's because you're too many and I need to make a seperation between the hours devoted to my work and the few hours I have left for my own business. Also it is to decrease the number of errors because text messages received between 4 phone calls on the road are sometimes forgotten.

Finally, please always specify the team in which you play and your position as several of you are versatile and have played different positions on several teams. Les chance of me making a mystake this way
