What calibers are used in the LFA?
Here is a table that can help you better understand the calibers used in the LFA. This table is for guidance only; some players who played at a high level in their youth, for example, are no longer considered elite players.

A (Former Pros)
Player who has played in the NHL, AHL or other top-caliber professional leagues.
B+ (Semi Pro)
Players who have played in a league such as the ECHL, LNAH, NCAA and equivalent.
B- (Junior Major)
Players who have played in the QMJHL, CHL or a league of similar level.
C+ (Junior AAA)
Players who have played Junior AAA (Junior A in Ontario), Senior AAA or College hockey.
C- (Junior AA)
D+ (Very Strong Double Letter)
D (Strong Double Letter)
D- (CC-A)
Players who have played the majority of their minor hockey at a medium competitive level (CC-A), and who have sufficient vision of the game, good physical fitness and can follow the game without difficulty.
E (Advanced Recreational)
Recreational players who are familiar with the intricacies of hockey, have played before, but no longer possess their former physical abilities. It’s a recreational level where players who are too strong cannot play, except in exceptional circumstances approved by the administration.
