HERITAGE

The Heritage division was created following the merger of the best elements of our recreational group and the veterans who played in the Central and Buzz divisions in the past. It offers a recreational and competitive playing experience and has established itself as our development division in which younger players and veterans share their hockey heritage. The mindset remains more recreational and less focused on stats despite the presentation of a trophy at the end of the season. Some players played competitive hockey in their youth and others in recreational leagues, but all play in this division for the pleasure of the “game” more than for the statistics and trophies. Probably our most fun division!

CENTRAL

The Central Division is the first division of the LFA started in 2013. It includes all the advantages of being part of the premier adult hockey league in Montreal and has a rich history of epic games, long standing friendships and the most imposing trophies in amateur hockey. While maintaining the LFA recipe as in all of our programs, each team is built with 3-4 levels of players who generally played (but not all) A to AAA and are mid-twenties to late fifties. The players are generally in good physical condition.

REC 101 MIXED

The REC 101 MIXED division offers men and women the opportunity to play together and practice our national sport in a RECREATIONAL setting. No stats, championships or trophies to be won. Simply an opportunity to play for the love of the game in a structured environment with balanced and fair teams for all. With the teams changing from series to series, you will be able to make new friends on off the ice. From beginner players. to those who do not want to play competitive anymore and even a 74 year old veteran, that make a happy mix.

Watching hockey is good, but playing is even better!

ROCKETTES

The Rockettes division is a new 100% WOMEN division to offer them the same opportunity to play great ogranized and friendly hockey as our male members. Even if women are welcomed in all our divisions, the Rockettes division is all theirs. Become a pionner and a founding member of this new LFA division !

SATELLITE

The Satellite Division is made up of 6 teams who have a chance to win the Satellite cup, one of our biggest trophies. Like our Challenge division in the winter it has individuals who also play in the Central division our highest caliber division. It offers a good level of play with also 3-4 levels of players per team. We also find players who have generally played (but not all) A up to AAA. Mid-twenties to late fifties, but generally a little older than in the Central division. Then again, things change from season to season so it might end up stronger or exacly the same as our Central division.

MONTREAL PICK-UP

The LFA Montreal pick-up is perfect for those who simply want to play for the love of the “game” and not for personal statistics or to win a championship trophy. The teams will change from week to week with the possibility of creating 4 balanced groups of 5 players for the summer (a fun tested formula) but small series 2 of 3 are to be expected to spice things up!

The intensity of play varies between recreational and competitive, but remains a friendly environment where everyone is welcome.

3V3 CHALLENGE

Due to the success of our annual LFA RUSH 3V3 tournament we have created a division to allow fans of this style of game on a small ice to play every week. Balanced teams made up of 6 players and a goalkeeper compete and as in our 5v5 divisions will play to get their hands on one of our exclusive championship trophies. Competitive hockey but always FRIENDLY above all :)

The LFA Club House is a cool proposal for those who particularly enjoy the social side of playing hockey. It picks up where pick-up style games end by adding a little twist to the “après match”. Our most experienced and mature members are sure to be pleased Emphasis is placed on the quality of the members to create a great group spirit. As they say, “membership has its privileges” :)

REX MIXED

Much like the Rec 101 Mixed division that plays Sunday nights, the REC MIXED offers men and women the opportunity to play together and practice our national sport in a RECREATIONAL setting. The difference between the two divisions is the 101, so there are no real beginners who are learning to skate on Thursdays although they are not excluded if they want to come and try to see their progression. In fact, we want to offer everyone the opportunity to play twice weeks in a FRIENDLY and recreational setting. No statistics, championships or trophies to win. Simply an opportunity to play for the love of hockey in a structured environment with balanced and fair teams for everyone. With teams changing from week to week, you'll be able to make new friends on and off the ice with a happy mix of people who want to play with a smile on their face.

HORIZON DECK

(To Be annouced)

We will add a new branch to our activities with the LFA HORIZON DECK which will take place just like our HORIZON division on the roof of a building in Mile-X. Several deck hockey leagues exist but none have the LFA touch and a place like the one we plan to use. A new championship trophy will be created for the men and women divisions because unlike our Horizon division in the winter, we want our DECK division to be recreational with a competitive twist but like all of our other programs, FRIENDLY. The Thursday group is recreational for people who just want to play for the fun of it.
