Last night , the gods of hockey answered my calls to enable us to complete the first portion of the season on the right foot with two close games that ended with a one goal differential between the victorious teams and the others because everyone came out a winner as these hard fought games were worthy of our " Satnite Hockey Classics" from back in the days of the Brotherhood . Fair and tight play with no bullshit on the ice and cold beer and heartfelt handshakes to begin the post game celebrations that carried on to Windsor Hyper Bar & Grill where we gathered to continue the evening .

POST GAME CELEBRATIONS AT THE WINDSOR HYPER BAR&GRILL WHERE THIS YEAR'S FIRST DRAW OF THE 50/50 WAS HELD THIS PAST SATURDAY DEC 21ST.

With a jackpot of $ 440 for the first "half-half" of the season, the tension was palpable when the announcement was made that we would draw the winning number in a few minutes. Those who had read the email the day before and had thought to bring their tickets were quick to spread them before their eyes, putting beer and chips aside to focus on their numbers , crossing their fingers while spying on the competition that surrounded them from the corner of their eyes. After a bit of "shake, rattle and hum" from the mc to raise the temperature , the winning ticket ended up to be # 499976 . Unfortunately, the winner was not among us or did not have his tickets on him , so the question remains, who is the lucky one ? The winner has until January 25 to claim his prize , otherwise it will be added to next month 50/50 draw. The amount collected permitted the LFA with the voluntary contribution of some participants to pay for beer for everyone in addition to the free consumption provided by our hosts. Smiles and good humor were in the air to complete the first half of our season with the Czechers again atop in the standings of the LFA. The balanced teams and parity that was felt during our last games promises good things for the second part of the season.
