THE FIRST PLAYER OF THE MONTH IS CROWNED

The votes are in, and the big winner of the first player of the month award in the Ligue Fédérale des As is none other than Martin Desjardins of the Bifteck Avengers. His 14 points, including 10 assists, put him ahead in two statistical categories, and his determination and desire to win make Marty a great choice. His prize is a the president's special homemade shepherd's pie, custom-made gluten-free to match Marty's diet.

Obviously points aren't the only measure to use when you select your chosen player of the month, otherwise we will only have a few players eligible over the course of the year. Sportsmanship, league involvement, hard work, good humour, or just being a gentleman on or off the ice are other qualities players should consider when making their selection.

Many of you know we have lost certain players since the beginning of the season for different reasons and after a few weeks of meeting and playing with possible replacements, we've now added to our rosters 3 new faces. On behalf of the LFA, I'd like to welcome Martin Jacques Aubert, the new goaltender for the Bifteck Avengers, as well as Eric Martel and Pierre-Luc Bédard to the Rouge Horizon Tomahawks. We are very happy to put an end to the musical chairs that we were forced to play since the beginning of the season. I  also want to announce that we are looking for four players to complete our teams for the balance of the season. Keeping a spot open on each team for the past two months has allowed us to see a lot of new players who are part of the pool of replacements. It's time to determine what each team needs with the player-coaches to pick out players who will allow their teams to finish the season with force. If you haven't played yet and you would like to join our unique league, there is still a few weeks to come play and perhaps secure a spot with us.
