THE PLAYER OF THE MONTH POWERED BY SHER-WOOD
/The LFA administration is proud to announce a partnership agreement with Sher-Wood Hockey, who will be officially honoring the LFA player of the month. After several months of negotiating we have finally reached an agreement in which the honoree will receive an awesome gift on behalf of Sher-Wood. I will let you build up the suspense in your minds and we will all know what the gift in question will be once the LFA player for October is announced. The union between the two parties as well as the coveted gift marks an appreciable step in the prize for the winner. In fact, if we go back to the start of the LFA, those who were around then will remember what Martin Desjardins, our first ever honoree, won. His prize was a shepherd’s pie made with love from the president’s bare hands.
Seeing as half of the 2014-2015 players are new to the gang, I would like to clarify the selection process for the player of the month. It has been decided that one player from each team will be nominated monthly for the prize and all members vote for who they believe stood out above and beyond during the previous month. Therefore, after the last game of each month, the captain and assistant captain of each team (or the team itself) will nominate the player on their team who contributed the most the success and spirit of the team. The six candidates will be announced during the week and the winner will be announced in the following Sunday/Monday LFA news.
Whether it is for the highest scorer, the hardest worker, or a goalie who stole the show, encourage those who you believe contribute the most on as well as off the ice to the LFA. That said, this prestigious prize is not reserved solely for the elite players of the league. It can also honor hard working support players and those who are leaders in the dressing room and on the bench who encourage their teammates to the end.
The prize will be voted by you for one of your own. Therefore, be wise in your selection and make sure you all participate. A huge thanks to Sher-Wood Hockey for their support and contribution to help give a unique hockey experience to the LFA members.
***The winner is now known, he will receive his prize next Saturday November 8th, toon in next Sunday to find out who he is, and what he won.
