NEWLY ELECTED DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE STRIKES DOWN

THE COMMITTEE.....

Following last week events, we really needed to get a new discipline committee together. The committee will be led this season by the Vice President of Hockey Operations of the LFA, Mr.Larry Quesnel. The committee barely formed and already an incident that needed their attention. In fact, at the end of the game between the Avengers and Loggers, the goalie of the later attacked the captain of the "men in blue" with two-minutes left in the game after a collision in the blue paint. Wheather or not goaltender Martin Jacques Aubert of the Cabane Loggers towards Patrice Vichier was justified is not the issue. Just like in real life, we can not take the law into our hands and decide right from wrong, it's doesn't work like that even if sometimes ..... Here are some excerpts from the league regulations:

HR-01 – THE SPIRIT OF THE LIGUE FÉDÉRALE DES AS (LFA)
II. The Ligue Fédérale des As – like the Hockey Brotherhood which has a long tradition of camaraderie and fair play – does not tolerate fighting, excessive roughness, body-checking, charging, stick-swinging, verbal threats or any other form of violence.
III. Except in cases where the seriousness of the offence merits immediate expulsion from the league, any player who does not respect the spirit of the league as described in the previous article is subject to first a formal warning from the President and the Disciplinary Committee and risks being expelled from the league for a second offence.
HR-09 – PENALITIES ET SUSPENSIONS
* A penalty for fighting includes expulsion from the current game and an automatic suspension from the next game.

In a case like this, the committee head did not need to consult with discipline committee members as the regulations are very clear. We all hope that Larry will not need any recourse to the committee and that all the "little friends" learn to play hockey competitively but in a FRIENDLY manner. League management would like to thank the players who accepted the invitation from Larry to join the disciplinary committee; namely, Raymond Hughes from the Tomahawks, Sébastien Renaud from the Loggers, Arnaud Guertin from the Vipers, Etienne Arsenault from the Czechers, Craig Higgins from the Avengers and Alexandre Paré from the Shamrocks which is probably finding this out now because Larry had not yet reached him at the time I posted the article.

AND YOU THINK THE METRO IS CROWDED ?! CARPOOLING DELUX

In other news, we are pleased to announce the launch in the MISCELLANEOUS section of the new "professional directory " as well as a space for "carpooling". This facet of our league demonstrates our commitment to create a healthy atmosphere of competition by helping to build bridges between our members while being environmentally responsible. Whether for your business needs or simply a lift to the game, consult these sections as well as the rest of the site for a wealth of treasures.

Play to play !!
