THE LFA EXPOSED AT THE POINTE-À-CALLIÈRE MUSEUM

Main entrance hall of the pointe-a-callière museum in old montreal

I rarely write my texts for the LFA journal on the fly, but I just came back from the press conference for the PASSION HOCKEY exhibition at the Pointe-à-Callière museum where the LFA is proudly represented and where its colours are displayed. This exhibition is held in partnership with the Canadian Museum of History, the Montreal Canadiens in connection with the National Hockey League centennial . The LFA has come a long way in four years of operation and is now amongst what is truly hockey in the city. Without believing that we will one day have our place in the Hall of Fame, despite having redrawn the boundaries of what a well managed amateur sports league with a singular vision can be and can become (as we have not finished rethinking the game) it's still fun to realize that we are part of this great Montreal premiere and that thousands of people will see our logos and colors in a museum in the next days . I invite you to visit the exhibition over the next couple months to discover all its treasures, it's worth the trip!

last saturday the members of the lfa took a minute of silence before eache game in memory of david cabral who died of cancer at the age of 44. Our depest sumpathies to his famely and friends.

THE RETURN OF THE 50/50 TO END THE YEAR ON THE RIGHT FOOT

A hockey tradition if there is one and alsonecessary to help pay for the inevitable additional expenses of running a league, we will put together a 50/50 draw (half and half) over the next 4 weekends of activity of the league. With 110 players across our two divisions plus many substitute players, if everyone participates the lucky winner and the league will be able to share a nice amount to finish the year in beauty for one and for the other to help pay part of the costs not covered by your membership. The draw will take place on Saturday December 23rd at the LFA Christmas party after our last game of the year. Thank you for participating in large numbers and good luck to all!!
