THE RACE IS ON

Ladies and gentlemen, it is official, there are only two games left in the 2016-2017 regular season, and with the results of the last few weeks, the ranking is tightening-up more and more. Clairvoyant is the one who can predict without hesitation who will win the Tremblay Trophy, given to the regular season champions. With only a five points difference between the first and fifth place, all hopes are still allowed!

Last Saturday's games were once again close ones, with only the first game ending with more than a one goal differential... with a staggering two-goal win for the Kamikazes against the Vipers! It goes without saying that these results are not those expected from an adult league, but with all the efforts put into balancing the teams by the LFA's administration to offer equal chances of victory for all, we can see the results.

The three other games ended with a one-goal gap, and in two cases, we were treated again with exciting shootouts. The next two weeks will be crucial for several teams, who will try both to win the championship but also to finish strong and start the playoffs on a streak.

The February player of the month, as decided by the players of the league, is Donald 'The Legend' Turcotte, who left his hockey retirement to help the Vipers, who have since enjoyed success. Donald's "joie de vivre", positivity and enthusiasm, as well as his unrivaled passing skills, ensured that he quickly became one of the most important parts of his team. Congratulations to the winner and thank you to all those who took the time to vote.

The LFA is proud to announce its partnership with RDS and the MVP Group, with the RDS HOCKEY EXPERIENCE , who will be held on March 18, 2017. Limited number of players will have the chance to pratice with former professional players, participate in skill competitions and hockey development workshops. The deal is offered with an exclusive $ 20 rebate for LFA members, so feel free to register at www.experiencehockey.ca, mentioning the EHRDS5 code to get your rebate.

One of the many important points the league tries to make come across is this atmosphere worthy of the major circuits, with its personalized team logos, banners, free official sport drink and all those little details that can sometimes go unnoticed.

A new project is gradually taking shape, which consists in the creation of personalized player posters, that each player can order. Would you like to immortalize your season, a championship or just keep a souvenir of the LFA? Pass an order with the administration with your requests and a poster will be created for you, at a cost of $ 30 for a digital version (wallpaper for example) and $ 60 for a single print version. Prices may vary according to your requirements and prerequisites. A portion of the profits will go to the League to fund its charity activities and its many hockey projects.

The LFA wishes to congratulate the Montreal Canadiennes on their conquest of the Clarkson Cup on March 5th. Melanie Desrochers, who played in several LFA games last season, is one of the players who bring the cup back to Montreal! A great achievement!

Do not forget, you have until the end of March to make your deposits in order to keep your priority for the 2017 summerdraft of the 2017 and 2017-2018 regular seasons. No deposit, no guarantee to be chosen! $ 50 deposit per season, refundable if you are not selected.

This is all for now. I wish you a good week and good luck for your next games. Come in sooner or stay late after your game, it's definitely worth staying for a beer (or three) and watching the games in the stands ... a great show!
