WHEN THE TITLE DOES NOT COME TO YOU
/Following my existential text of the beginning of the year one might think I want to continue my group introspective to dig a little further under the hypoderm of the LFA and the universe in which we bathe. But strangely, I, who is accustomed to finding my title to give direction to my writings, find myself there, blinded by the whiteness of my screen as if paralyzed by the blowing snow that besieges the city. With all the arrows pointing north, I do not seem to find my way and the title to get me out of this Nordicity. So for lack of direction I will simply outline some useful points to find your way in your league.
MUSIC AND HOUSE ANNONCER
We will now be entitled to music and a house announcer during all games of the central division of the LFA as humainly possible. Project infrastructure, lobbying and funding started a few years ago, it is thanks to the help of Sean Sivilay of the Barbares that the administration of the league has finalized everything to offer since December 23rd animation to optimize the experience of the players and supporters of the league. For now it's the guy who signs these lines that will take care of the post and the latter invites you to send him t MP3 toons that you would like to hear during your games.
THE BEST PHOTOS OF NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER ARE ONLINE
You will find the best photos of November and December mostly taken by our official photographer, Lisette Nepveu in our MEDIA section of our site.
NEW STUFF TO START 2018
Whether it's music during the games, the way you communicate with the league or the services offered by the LFA at the arena, several new features are available for you to start 2018 in style. Maximise your experience by keeping up to date. For those who have difficulty with the technical aspects, contact Jacob from the Social Revival Hackers. For those wanting X4 for a little kik before their game, or the X1 (Quebec Gatoraide in powder), tape for sticks and pads or a LFA tuque or hoodie to keep warm and support our operations, come to our boutique before your game.
THE AFTER GAME GET TOGETHER AND YOUR PLAYER CONTRACT
One of the particularity of La Ligue Fédérale des As, and only one, is its after game get together. These are ESSENTIAL and the MAGIC INGREDIENT to ensure we maintain a healthy level of competition because respect for each other is earned not a givin. This is why following meetings with each member of the 2016-2017 edition of the league we have set up a LFA user manual for our players. The latter will be shared in due time but these meetings have allowed us to establish with our members of the Central Division some broad lines that are part of your PLAYER CONTRACT that you all signed at the beginning of the season. Here is an excerpt .
The player agrees to participate in a minimum of 25% of the social activities of the league as its post-games, special events, BBQ preseason, Christmas party and the end of season Gala. i.e .: If the league organizes thirty (30) off-ice activities, the player must participate in a minimum of six (6), to encourage the friendly side of the league and maintain its healthy competitive spirit.
We have to admit that several members still have not show their faces during our off-ice activities and that with only 4 months to go in the season, they will have to show up to respect the signed agreement and to guarantee them a place in the next draft. This for the good of the group and its members as well as the atmosphere through the league because a discipline committee shoud not be as busy in a league that is competitive but FRIENDLY before anything. This week, we will go to McCarold’s pub to take advantage of the LFA combo !
CONGRADULATION TO OUR WINNER OF THE 50/50 DRAW
After last Saturday's game we finally found out who had the winning ticket for the 50/50 draw that was held last december 23rd. It is none other then Glen Cambridge of the Pro-Jet Demolition Rhinos who always particpates and helps out the league. Beeing the good sport that he is, he decided to keep a bit for himself and give the larger chunk of his winnings for his teams beer pot. Now that's a team player in my book !
ANOTHER DOCUMENTARY ON THE ORIGINS OF HOCKEY
Earlier this season, I shared with you some documents about the origins of hockey. In this regard, my brother-in-law, who immigrated here from Ireland in the early 1990s, often told me about the similarity of hockey and hurling. Here is a documentary that traces the origins of our national sport to the heart of Ireland. Click on CC to view the subtitled version. http://www.tg4.ie/en/player/home/?pid=5559915270001
