FACE BEHIND THE VISOR
/During the forced break of the last week due to a tournament at the College Notre-Dame arena the administration of the Ligue Fédérale des As was not idle, especially in the discipline department. It was necessary to bring back in line some of the members of the Barbarians and Meteors who had exceeded the limits of what is acceptable in a competitive but friendly hockey league during their meeting of December 2nd. In addition to the general warnings to both teams, some players received personal letters because in their case formal complaints had been made against them by members of the league. Although it is very clearly stated in our official documents "This warning has nothing personal and is simply another effort by the LFA on the path to reach it’s ultimate goal: provide to all its members the healthiest and most positive hockey experience." Some of the recipients of the letters said they did nothing wrong. It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words and it is clear that if everyone subscribed to our LIVE BARN account and watched themselves play, some might realize why they are sometimes singled out as not playing a gentlemen game. Again, several situations degenerate after insults are thrown left and right on the ice so on this account we can only rely on the testimonial of the players concerned.
I took the title FACE BEHIND THE VISOR from the pen of the Prefect of Discipline who referred to it during one of the many warning letters he had to issue during the so-called break. All these hours spent watching the games as a result of complaints received is not pleasant and takes a lot of time. The ensuing investigations and endless communications eats-up a lot of energy that we could put on other aspects of the league and if we are lucky in our own lives. So the administration of the LFA, its Prefect of Discipline and all the other volunteers involved in analysing these disiciplinary issues would greatly appreciate if everyone would make an effort to meet the "face behind the visor", (talking about the other players of the league)... it's the only way to stop having these recurring problems in the league. As a hockey legend once said "Be like a child and leave your ego at the door". And that should save us a lot of trouble.

SPORT ON PRESCRIPTION
I recently read an article on Linkedin that may be announcing new days for employes with "un mal de vivre". Imagine the doctor prescribing you to play sports and that your group insurance pays for it. It's not so far-fetched and this new way of doing things is gaining momentum in France. Who knows, possibly the prolongation of the French invasion in Montreal will bring us this most refreshing reform. For those who can benefit from it of course.
THE AFTER GAME
We have two teams with pre-Christmas partys this Saturday so it's a safe bet that the post-game at McCarold's Pub and the Cabane will be well animated. Join us in one of the two locations and support restaurant-pubs that takes care of us all year long.
BE CONSCIOUS OF YOUR CHOICES AS A CONSUMER AND ENCOURAGE THOSE WHO INVEST IN YOUR LEISURE TIME (HOCKEY) FOR IT TO CONTINUE IN ITS CURRENT FORM. Let's all be more conscious in general.
